  1. Hi, that would be amazing to be able to use your tool if the phage I am currently working on would be available…

    1. Thank you very much for your interest in our resources.

The NCBI Virus Resource replaced Virus Sequence Search Interface. NCBI Virus includes sequences from all virus groups including bacteriophages and supports several new functionalities.

You can search for sequences using the virus-specific NCBI BLAST tool or perform virus sequence searches based on virus name or taxonomy. We also included quick access to the preselected data sets, including bacteriophages. Please note that we are still working on refining this set.

NCBI Virus undergoes constant improvement; we’re improving the existing functionalities and adding new ones. We welcome your feedback, which you can leave by e-mailwith subject “NCBI Virus”, or by using the Feedback button on NCBI Virus website. Please let us know if you’d like to discuss NCBI Virus further or become a tester.

  2. This would definitely be an incredibly useful tool for phage research. Is the tool going to be expanded to include additional sequences? Or is it strictly meant to be used for eukaryotic viruses that cause disease in/affect humans?
