October 2018 RefSeq annotations include honey bee, butterfly & more

In October, the NCBI Eukaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline released new annotations in RefSeq for the following organisms:

  • Apis mellifera (honey bee)
  • Athene cunicularia (burrowing owl)
  • Ceratina calcarata (bee)
  • Ciona intestinalis (vase tunicate)
  • Ctenocephalides felis (cat flea)
  • Diaphorina citri (Asian citrus psyllid)
  • Galleria mellonella (greater wax moth)
  • Hyposmocoma kahamanoa (moth)
  • Microtus ochrogaster (prairie vole)
  • Notechis scutatus (mainland tiger snake)
  • Pangasianodon hypophthalmus (striped catfish)
  • Papaver somniferum (opium poppy)
  • Phoenix dactylifera (date palm)
  • Piliocolobus tephrosceles (Ugandan red Colobus)
  • Pseudonaja textilis (eastern brown snake)
  • Rhopalosiphum maidis (corn leaf aphid)
  • Terrapene mexicana triunguis (three-toed box turtle)
  • Trichoplusia ni (cabbage looper)
  • Ursus arctos horribilis (brown bear)
  • Vanessa tameamea (butterfly)
  • Vombatus ursinus (common wombat)
  • Zonotrichia albicollis (white-throated sparrow)
