On February 1, 2020, NCBI will decommission the following FTP subdirectories for GEO:
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/geo/DATA/SOFT/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/geo/DATA/supplementary/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/geo/DATA/MINiML/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/geo/DATA/SeriesMatrix/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub/geo/DATA/annotation/
Most GEO users have stopped using these subdirectories and instead use the new subdirectories below. Any users with hardcoded paths to the old subdirectories should change them as follows, prior to the February decommissioning:
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/series/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/datasets/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/samples/
- ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/platforms/
